The storm that came through last week missed us , but did serious devastation to about 10 square miles around us. I t was absolutely unbelievable!!! There were trees and limbs down every where, including people's roofs. Power was out for over a week in some places. The trees looked like a hurricane or tornado came through. It wasn't just the old trees, but the young Birches too! With this much damage now , I wonder what will happen in January when the BIG ice storms come! We have been fortunate, God has kept us safe so far. Right now, there is a houseful--Dana,Glenn,Roslyn,myself, Yogi ,and Nathaniel is coming tomorrow.
If we hadn't gone with Yogi to his sisters wake, I would have never seen the destruction and devastation. It was a real eye opener.
My sister-in-law Linda in NH was without power for over a week, but they had a generator, gas cooking, and gas heat. It was still a bitter grind for them and their 2 cats.
The rest of the family made it through fine. I called my Mother, and she didn't even have any branches down. Thank goodness my sister lives with her, so my worries are at a lower level.
